Terremark has finished its expansion of its Bogota data center, in Colombia, South America.
It plans to offer cloud computing services now it has doubled the size of the data center, to almost 20,000 sq ft since it first opened in 2008.
Terremark also added additional bandwidth to the site, which will connect servers through its portfolio, containing about 50 data center around the world, including its NAP of Brazil faciltiies and NAP Americas faciltiies.
In Latin America alone it has a footpring of 60,000 sq ft.
Terremark President Nelson Fonseca said Terremark has experienced a large amount of growth in recent times.
“In the last six months, Terremark has completed the expansion of four strategically-located data centers, two of them in Latin America,” Fonseca said.
“The NAP of the Americas-Colombia’s growth is aligned with our plan to make our unique IT portfolio available across the globe, and the newly expanded NAP strengthens Terremark’s presence in this high-demand region.”
Customers of the NAP of the Americas-Colombia, in Bogota’s Free Trade Zone, have access to 15 major carriers in the region and more than 160 carriers through Terremark’s NAP of the Americas in Miami.
Terremark said Colombia is fast becoming an IT hub for Latin America and is currently experiencing strong demand for enterprise-class cloud solutions.
